SMALL DETAILS MAKE A DIFFERENCE…
Beachmont referral home cleaners adhere to the highest quality cleaning standards.
That alone makes a huge difference.
A short distance from Boston is Revere, Massachusetts. The seaside town is known for its beaches, picturesque scenery, and its place in history. One of the communities within Revere is known as Beachmont. Small, quiet, and yet filled with greenery and views of the Atlantic Ocean, Beachmont has something for solo travelers, families, and groups of friends to enjoy.
Whether you are coming for the sand and surf or something more, here is what you need to know about Beachmont:
Beachmont is part of Revere and is often not separate from such conversations. Most locals know it as a quiet place that is more insular than surrounding communities but also warm and quaint in appearance. There are streets lined with turn-of-the-century buildings, each charming in their own way. There are many rental homes in the area, as well as long-term residents.
The total population of Revere is around 54,000 people. The community is diverse, with a blend of whites, blacks, Hispanics or Latinos, Asians, and other races. That said, the Hispanic or Latino population has played a role in the development of Beachmont and other areas. You can see a number of Salvadoran and Colombian shops.
One of the most popular sites in Beachmont is the Belle Isle Marsh Reservation, a coastal wetlands nature preserve surrounded by an urban landscape. The Reservation contains on the last remaining pieces of salt marshes that existed in Boston long before the Massachusetts Bay colonists started to appear. Today, the reservation has benches, an observation tower, hiking paths, and even access to the Boston Harborwalk.
Beachmont developed alongside other parts of Revere, Massachusetts early on in American history. However, people were few are far between. In 1687, there were only 31 settlers living around what is now known as Revere. In 1837, only 1,201 people dwelled in Revere. It wasn’t until immigration to America started to boom that people began pouring out of Boston and into the surrounding areas.
Between 1837 and 1840, the population doubled. In 1905, the Italian population of Revere and all its neighborhoods escalated rapidly. The Italians were the largest ethnic group in the area, and many families living in Beachmont today are Italian-American. Jewish immigrants, too, arrived in droves. However, in the 21st century, Revere saw an influx of South Americans from Brazil, as well as Moroccans, Africans, and more. In May 2017, Revere hosted its first Moroccan Cultural Day as a celebration of the ethnic diversity of the area.
The Belle Isle Marsh Reservation is also a historic piece of Beachmont. What is now connected to the mainland was once an island in the waters. The island was given to William Brereton in 1628. He named it Susana Island to honor his daughter. Later, the island was called Hog Island on maps of the area, but that was only before the island was purchased at the end of the 18th century by Joseph Russel, who renamed it, Belle Isle. Then, in 1800, the island once again traded hands and came under the ownership of John Breed, who called it Breed’s Island.
Beachmont may be a small community, but that doesn’t mean you cannot visit today and not have a wonderful time. With beaches, walkable roads, green space, and shopping abound, you are sure to have fun and make memories.
If you love green spaces and fresh air, then don’t forget to make a stop at Belle Isle Marsh Reservation. Other places to enjoy a day in the sun include Short Beach, Fredericks Park, Louis Pasteur Park, and if you want to venture farther south, the John Joseph Kilmartin Pathway and Winthrop Highlands. You could make a whole day out of hiking through the green spaces if you wanted to. Beachmont is also a short ride or walk away from Revere Beach.
Hungry after all that wandering around? There are a couple of places to grab food near the Beachmont MBTA station, including a convenience store and Dunkin’, as well as La Esquina del Sabor, a popular Colombian restaurant in the area, and Luigi’s. There is also a shopping center accessible from Tomasello Way that takes you to several stores where you can shop and dine.
Getting to Beachmont for a day trip to the beach and beyond is easy. Drive Route 1A or use Bennington Street to drive straight up from Boston. Otherwise, you can use the MBTA Blue Line to get off at Beachmont Station. Suffolk Downs Station gives you easy access to Belle Isle Marsh Reservation, and Orient Heights brings you to Constitution Beach. Why not check out all three stops if you have the time?
Perhaps you’re a busy Beachmont parent, trying to juggle the kids’ dance recitals and soccer practice on top of vacuuming and doing the dishes at home. Or maybe you’re a business professional or CEO who doesn’t have the time to deal with dust and dirt when you return home from a long day at work. Or possibly you may have a disabled relative or elderly parent who could use a helping hand around the house.
When you’re searching for a dependable home cleaner in Beachmont don’t look any further. You can rest easy by choosing Patriot Maids to refer the very best house cleaner for your family. All house cleaners are background checked, come with 2 to 3 years’ experience, and fully equipped to handle any cleaning task.
